Background
The College of Business and Economics was established at Bule Hora University in 2011 G.C. in response to the government’s program of expanding and diversifying university education.
The college is one of the leading academic units within the university, dedicated to providing high-quality education, research, and community services in the fields of business, economics, and related disciplines.
The objective of establishing the College is to produce well-trained manpower in the area of Business and Economics that contributes toward the development of the country.
Alongside producing professionals, the College also shoulders public responsibility by supporting national development through quality education, problem-solving research, community-based services, and other academic activities.
Since its establishment, the College has expanded significantly. Initially, it started with only one undergraduate program in the Department of Accounting and Finance with about 40 students.
Currently, the College runs undergraduate teaching programs in various academic fields under regular, weekend, evening, and summer modalities across the main campus and satellite campuses.
The College has also expanded its postgraduate education through multiple master’s and PhD programs aimed at strengthening research, innovation, leadership, and professional competency in business and economics disciplines.
