Strengthening Academic Excellence through Global Collaboration

Bule Hora University (BHU) continues to solidify its standing in the global academic arena through its successful participation in the 3rd Global Conference on Teacher Education, Research, and Innovation (GCTERI 2026), held virtually from April 28–30. This milestone engagement was spearheaded by the Research, International Relations, and Partnership Directorate, made possible through our strategic partnership with Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), Philippines.

Our delegation played a pivotal role across the three-day event, contributing as keynote speakers, panelists, and expert judges:

Day 1: Tariku Gemede (PhD Candidate), the Vice President for Administration and Development, and Dr. Mekuria Guye (Academic Program Director) served as expert judges for the Teacher Education and Research Excellence themes.

Day 2: Assistant Professor Anteneh Fikrie (Director of Research and International Relations) delivered a featured keynote address regarding the evolving landscape of global research partnerships

• Habtam Setegn (Educational Quality Assurance & Enhancement Director) contributed her expertise as a judge for the Strategic Internationalization theme.

Day 3: Dr. Abdisa Olkeba (Assistant Professor  & Senior Lecturer, College of Social Science and Humanities) concluded our institutional contribution by serving as a judge for the Leadership, Governance, and Policy theme.

Despite the five-hour time difference, the consistent and active participation of the BHU delegation throughout GCTERI 2026 highlights the strengthening partnership between BHU and MMSU. This engagement served as a vital platform for high-level knowledge exchange and international networking. Ultimately, the experience fostered institutional collaboration while providing our staff with essential opportunities to broaden their professional horizons and advance within the global academic community.
