Overview
Bule Hora University is one of the Ethiopian federal universities that found in the southern extreme of Ethiopia, specifically in west Guji zone, Bule Hora town of Oromia regional state.  It’s one of the recently established educational institutions which are categorized as third generation universities. Basically, the university is designed to be the center where the three main national missions such as teaching- learning, research and community services are to be delivered and actively to be realized. .
As any other Higher educational institutions do, Bule Hora university is striving for realizing its own excellences such as Agriculture, Mining and indigenous knowledge by delivering quality education, conducting a research on community based problems and delivering an appropriate community based services.  
To this end, the academic and the administrative wings are acting together or in harmony with to carry out the mission, vision and aims of the University.  The academic wing has a wide range of academic programs which actively delivering courses accordingly and the administrative wing is also to provide supportive staffs to facilitate the academic wing to meet the growing demand of trained and skilled manpower of the region and the country as well. Among these offices, the public and international relation directorate is one, which is later named as Communication Affairs Executive. Communication Affairs Executive has its own mission, vision and aim to play its parts in the processes of realizing the university’s center of excellences as a whole.
Being under the President office, Bule Hora University’s Communication Affairs Executive has first established as public and international relation office directorate in 2004 E.C. Still, the Communication Affairs Executive directly responsible for the main President.
From the commencement of the university, different experts and individuals have been leading the directorate. The first director of public and international relation office or Communication Affairs Executive of BHU was Mr.Guyo Doyo. He has led the office for two years. Later, from 2006-2007, the directorate was led by Mr. Dagim Tesfaye. Next, for one year, the office was led by Mr. kassahun fanaye. Once again, from 2009- 1/05/2010, the directorate was led by Mr. Dagim Tesfaye. From 2/05/2010-1/06/2011 it was led by Mr.Tilahun kassahun. From 2/06/2011 up to 10/11/2014, the directorate was led by Mr. Daniel Seifu. From the date,11/11/2014- 10/05/2015 was led by Mr.Tsegaw Endasha and from 11/05/2015 up to 1/06/2016 was led by Ms. Eyerus kassahun  and once again from  the beginning of February 2016 up to now, it has been leading by Tilahun kassahun.
  • Vision
To build an effective working team with desired skills to create and maintain a conducive –conditions for positive attitude at Bule Hora University through honest and effective communication with local public and international as well and thereby improving and enhancing the image of the University by promoting and facilitating the flow of real information that would potentially maintain a good reputations and excellences of the University.
  • Mission
Is to work on a positive image of Bule Hora University by promoting and enhancing the holistic performance and accomplishment of the university in general and let it to be known by all its stakeholders using internal and external communication through different Media’s outlets nationally and internationally. 
  • Aims :
The communication Affairs executive’s overarching aims in carrying out or supporting University’s mission and vision are:
  • To enhance and develop positive communications with in the university in creating team spirit to act together for mutual benefits.
  • Support and promote positive communications with in internal and external stakeholders for effective communication and pave the way for good ground to act together as well.
  • Try to manage  every events and any other engagements that the university would embark on to enhance the life of the community;
  • To facilitate and provide an efficient, effective and high quality communication among the community inside and outside the university or BHU.
  • To be an appropriate channel that enables the university to communicate directly with its main audiences and stakeholders.
  • Enhance and develop the visibility and clarity of the university to the public’s and other concerned bodies as well.
  • To make the stakeholders and concerned bodies to aware the success stories and best practices of the university in the way that it creates good communal image.
Objectives
The communication Affairs Executive tries to achieve its mission and aims by implementing the following broad and interlocked or interrelated objectives:
  • To aware and define bhu’s basic characteristics and communicate them continuously and clearly.
  • To promote the university’s tasks, activities and different achievements and also challenge the misconceptions and misinterpretations where it’s necessary.
  • To enhance and develop interrelationships, partnerships, and mutual understanding with outside communities, groups and organizations.
  • To arrange, organize and support ceremonials, education, events, activities and other opportunities that build relationships that is more relevant to the universities mission.
  •  To organize and manage special ceremony and events that represent or shows Bule Hora University’s center of excellences so as to advocate and support by mobilizing bhu working units.
  • Organize, manage and provide different services that includes publicities photography, graphic design etc. to the university community and form a pool of video and audio resources and conference management tools which enables efficient delivery of such services.
