Research, Publication, Ethics, and Dissemination Directorate of Bule Hora University has organized the thematic research proposal defense program for the proposals developed by academic staffs from different disciplines.
The main objective of the event was to evaluate the proposed research ideas based on the thematic research evaluation guidelines that were developed on the basis of the national research priority areas and the contribution of the proposed projects to the community.
Mr. Danbala Kilta, Research and Indigenous Knowledge Coordinator of the Directorate, in his speech on the opening of the event, stated that this year’s thematic research proposals differ from the previous ones in that it was directed and prepared in line with a unique thematized format depending on national priority of research areas that practically focus on significant contribution to the community.
The evaluation process was handled by assigning external and internal evaluators from other universities and Bule Hora university respectively. These research proposals were evaluated or reviewed by assigning experienced scholars as external (from other universities) and internal (from the host university).
Finally, Mr. Danbala has underlined that for the evaluation process to be strict and thoroughly review the proposals, due attention should be given particularly to the issues related to the plagiarism and research ethics by the reviewers.
And Mr. Danbala reminded the reviewers and the researchers that they should take the issues of the research ethics into consideration, and the proposals passed to the next level will be subjected to ethical review process in order to get ethical clearance letter.
