The research to be conducted at BHU will be based on thematic areas that have been identified on the basis of national, regional, and local developmental requirements.
Theme 1: Mineral Exploration and Mining
  • Assessment of potential area of a minerals and rock quarry site
  • Exploration for gemstones and semi-precious stones
  • Geological and geomorphological characterization of landforms
  • Geological structure and geomorphology responsible for the occurrence of minerals
  • Groundwater exploration, quality monitoring, and vulnerability assessment
  • Metamorphism and deformation history of rocks
  • Mining pollution, waste, and hazard management
  • Mining safety and health issues
  • Multipurpose geological and geotechnical map development
